Sorcha Harriman-Smith is the creative behind Childrensalon.com, the go to website for children’s designer clothing.
My job involves… overseeing and driving forward our creative and marketing departments. It’s a very diverse role and can change a lot depending on the projects we are working on. It includes managing, maintaining and promoting our brand image online and the brands we stock, social media, newsletters and online customer experience.
I came from a background of… Chemistry at UCL and went onto Fashion Management and Marketing when I joined the family business as a career.
I worked from the bottom up, making tea, washing up, tidying the shop floor, stock control, optimising product pictures, packing and despatching parcels. I went onto accounts and ended up in the creative team, where my passion is. I continue to study and develop, and assume I will be for the next 20 years!
My job is great because… we’re a fast growing company and always doing something exciting. Each week something new happens and I can play an influential role, which is very motivating. I am both technical and creative and it satisfies both sides of my personality.
