Yesterday Econsultancy author Patricio Robles hailed 2009 as a banner year for private sales websites, particularly Parisian based Vente Privee. So what’s it like being Leilah King, the company’s UK Sales Coordinator?
My role at vente-privee.com involves… many different hats! I am the spokesperson between our direct brand contacts and our internal creative teams to produce event sales on our UK website.
Once work begins on an event sale, I am the guardian of the brand image and in effect an extension of a brand’s own marketing team.
I create detailed marketing briefs which allow our in-house motion designers, musicians and photo shoot managers to co-produce campaigns which maintain and enhance the core values of the brands.
I started my career… in Paris! Right from the very start I knew I wanted to work in the world of fashion, and where better to start than the capital of fashion?
Two very different internships during my Erasmus year in Paris developed my interest in marketing and the luxury goods market.
Early 2008, Vente Privee found me, bowled me over by their professionalism and qualitative work and I’ve never looked back!
My job is great because… of the diversity within the company and the inspiration I receive from the experienced people I am in contact with day in, day out.
Hearing five different languages in the open-plan office every day makes you realise you are part of a company’s voyage into the international arena where Vente-Privee’s core values have been transferred to each country and hence each online community.
Vente Privee has shown me a modern innovative way to approach business and has created opportunities to touch different aspects of commerce that a regular traditional business model may not.
