Childrensalon, the industry leading online store for luxury children’s clothing and gifts has launched a new website. The website fuses innovative e-commerce technology with art and design; the end result being a faster, easier and more enjoyable user-experience.
Established in 1952, and still family owned, the company owes its success to the high level of expertise in the childrenswear market and an ethos that puts the customer’s experience at the heart of every strategy. With a team of over 50 people who speak seventeen languages, no question goes unanswered and with over 230 designers, including Gucci, Fendi, Baby Dior, and Roberto Cavalli, the best products can be found.
Michele Harriman-Smith, Childrensalon MD, said “As far as our customers are concerned, every interaction they have with us is our brand. Their experience browsing our website must be of as high a standard as their telephone conversations with customer service or the delivery of their order”.
The new website makes a major leap forward in design, technology and user-journey, whilst also giving Childrensalon more freedom for ongoing development and scalability. User-journey has been improved by using mega drop-down menus and facilitated navigation, allowing the customer to define a selection of products according to their individual needs. Extensive filter options - such as age, designer, shoe size, gender, colour and price - can be used in any combination. Improved product pages and shopping tools such as wish and gift lists, a loyalty scheme and revamped magazine area are among other features that aim to improve the customer experience and enjoyment. In the background, a sophisticated multi-server set up and increased platform flexibility will allow the company to achieve ambitions for further development and growth.
Sorcha Harriman-Smith, Childrensalon E-Commerce Director, added “We have built a very sophisticated and technically complex architecture, but the real trick has been creating a design that is simple yet beautiful and delivering performance that feels effortless on top of that complexity”.
