b.TWEEN 3D - be a part of the world's most impressive collective of thought leaders at the BFI London, 21st July 2011

Friday, 8th July 2011, 10:33am
b.TWEEN 3D is a true playground for pioneers bringing together the world’s thought leaders on this area of techonology and giving the public a chance to question them and find out what is going to come next...
This mind blowing day includes:
Showcase installations in the public areas:
Augmented reality - you’ve heard all about it but come see AR in action (yes there really will be an elephant in the room).
Mind your step - sensory triggers and QR codes will provide a new way to explore films and archive material in the BFI’s foyer.
Be greeted by an Artificial Intelligence welcome desk.
You can even take home a 3D souvenir of yourself...

We are also delighted to announce audiovisual pioneer Stuart Warren Hill (visuals for bands such as Faithless and Coldcut) will present a live synesthetic, holographic performance on 21st July at 7pm, BFI Southbank. With no need for 3D glasses, Stuart’s technology immerses the audience into a world of special effects. The event is a UK Premiere as part of b.TWEEN 3D - held at the British Film Institute on London’s Southbank to celebrate 60 years since the first 3D public screening.

Additionally thought leaders and innovators from games, advertising, TV, film, science and education will gather to discuss a future when the virtual spills from the screen onto the streets. Guest speakers at the conference include Baroness Susan Greenfield, Oxford University , Rebecca Allen – Director of Nokia Research Center Hollywood and Nokia Research Center Cambridge, Marco Tempest, Virtual Magician, Martyn Ware Heaven 17, Future of Sound, John Newbigin – Chairman of Creative England, Rachel Armstrong – senior TED Fellow, Philip Delamore – Senior Research Fellow in Digital Technologies, and the Director of the Fashion Digital Studio at the London College of Fashion, Mark Earls – author of “Herd: How to Change Mass Behaviour by Harnessing Our True Nature” Evan Grant – creative and technologist, founder
of collective seeper, Mick Hocking – Head of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios’ stereoscopic 3D team.
